There is still no relief for three former chief ministers and dozens of other leaders who remained under detention since August 5, when the Centre scrapped Article 370 and 35 A, besides dividing the state into two Union Territories (UTs).

However, situation was normal with shops and business establishments functioning and traffic plying normally in Kashmir valley, where security forces remained deployed to maintain law and order. Chilly winds are forcing the people to start their day late in the morning and close early in the evening.

Three former Chief Ministers-Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son OmarAbdullah and Mehbooba Mufti-ex-legislators and ex-ministers were among dozens of leaders who remained under detention since August 5.

Dr Abdullah has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA).Meanwhile, daughter of detained former CM Mehbooba Mufti, Ilteja Mufti has sought permission to visit graveyard of her grandfather and ex-CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in Anantnag on January 7 on his fourth death anniversary.

Kashmir observed spontaneous strike against scrapping of special status of the state for more than three months. However, later life returned to normal and for the past more than a month business and other activities are going on smoothly

Police said there is no restriction in any part of the valley.However, Central Paramilitary Force (CPMF) remained deployed in Kashmir valley,including summer capital, Srinagar to maintain law and order.
